Faculty members publish two studies on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD) in the New England Journal of Medicine

As part of an international research study, Dr. Harvey Coxson, Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology, found that quitting smoking is the best antidote to slow progression of COPD. In a second study, Dr. James Hogg, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, and a team of UBC researchers found that the smallest airways in the lungs are narrowed and destroy. . .
